Work Prints
My design work is driven by a deep appreciation for storytelling, typography, and visual composition, aiming to create designs that are both impactful and intentional. I see design as more than just aesthetics but a tool for communication, a way to bridge ideas, and a means to amplify voices. At the center of my creative process is problem-solving. To me, every project starts with research and exploration, ensuring that the visual direction aligns with the story being told. Whether designing a publication layout or developing a brand identity, I prioritize structure, hierarchy, and clarity to create work that is both engaging and effective. I draw inspiration from the real world, infusing my work with a sense of authenticity and connection. Impact is central to my design philosophy. I believe that design has the power to shape narratives, influence perspectives, and preserve stories that might otherwise go unheard. My work is not just about making something visually compelling but about crafting experiences that resonate with people. Through thoughtful typography, bold compositions, and strategic design choices, I aim to create work that leaves a lasting impression.
Through printmaking, particularly screenprint, I explore the different facets of who I am. Raised in an urban environment by Mexican immigrant parents, I honor my heritage while drawing on the signage, visual language, and assets of the space I grew up in. By weaving these elements together, I aim to create work that tells stories and sparks conversations about identity, culture, and belonging. Much of my work is inspired by personal memories and family photographs, which I use as both references and sources of material. These images tie my memories to shared cultural experiences, allowing me to create prints that are deeply rooted in my own experiences while remaining accessible and relatable to a broader Latino/x audience. Ultimately, my goal is to highlight the ways we are connected through objects, memory, and culture. By sharing my own stories, I invite viewers to see themselves within the work and experience a sense of familiarity, recognition, and belonging.
